Dr. Olson has been a faculty member at Arizona State University since 1989, and is currently the Program Chair for the Environmental & Resource Management degree programs in the Fulton Schools of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in bioinorganic chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in chemistry from Baylor University. He was a post-doctoral fellow in organometallic chemistry at the University of Illinois and has been a Visiting Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel(VUB) in Brussels, Belgium; the University of Houston, Rice University, and Baylor University. Prior to moving to ASU, Dr. Olson was Academic Dean and Administrative Vice President at Grand Canyon College.
For the last 20 years, Dr. Olson’s teaching and research has focused on environmental issues ranging from managing hazardous chemicals to ensuring safe water supplies, clean air and protection of our soils. He is the ASU Coordinator for the Water Management Certificate Program in conjunction with the Agribusiness and Water Council of Arizona.
